Templates save time.

Templates.  They really do save you time.  It might seem like a lot of work sometimes to put them together, but in the long run they save you time.

A simple example.  I started a sharing page on instagram.  I share four grids of four photos every day.  When I first started it I would go through the effort of typing out words and including all the right hashtags and tagging the people whose photos I shared.

I learned very quickly to create a template.

My template now has all of the hashtags that I need to share.  It has a place to add the people I need to tag and it has a place for text for the photos.  It also has the standard text for the rules for “how to play” to get a chance for their photo to be selected.

No more trying to remember everything every time I post a photo.  I just copy and paste, add the people I need to tag, add the text I want and post.

Not only does it save me time, but it also means that I am consistent.  My followers are getting the information delivered to them the same way with every photo.  They know what to expect.  They know what to look for.  And as long as they enjoy the photos I share, they continue to follow me and the number of followers I get continues to grow.

So where could you apply a template?

I also have one for my monthly newsletter for my business.  It allows me to provide a consistent front in the information I share.  I increases my efficiency for compiling the newsletter every month as I am not deciding on designs and trying to remember what information I like to share or update my subscribers on.

What is something that you do on a regular basis – daily, weekly, monthly or even annually – that could be improved with a template.

Another important use for a template is when you need people to supply you with information.  Monthly reports for example.  Do you have a template that will guide them in providing the information that is important to you?

Think about it.

I’m sure that you could implement a template somewhere in your life.

If you can’t see where.  Then reach out to me.  Let me guide you.
